The course info of the course C says that the course and exams take place in the language - according to the choice of the candidate - Czech, English or German. What is the required level of knowledge of the language?
Necessary entry level is colloquial level. You will learn all necessary terms of the technique and methodology of skiing during the course (the lecturer will partly teach in the language and at the beginning of the course you will get a special 5-language dictionary of technical terms and phrases).
What is the required skiing entry level for ski course C or D?
You should be able to ski red slope in parallel ski guidance. No previous "racing past" is required.
The course is methodical - you will learn how to teach. It is not primarily focused on improving your skiing skills.
What happens when there will be no snow in the term of the course?
We will offer you to join the course in different place with better snow conditions. If this is not possible, we will change the date of the beginning of the course by few days (according to the weather forecast). In this case, we communicate with the applicant, and if the new term does not fit, we will provide a full refund.
Is it possoble to commute to where the course takes place?
Yes, it's possible, but note that the course is very time-consuming. The practical training on the slope (morning and afternoon) is followed by evening lectures and workshops. The daily program usually begins at 9 am and ends at about 9 - 10 pm.
APUL licenses are valid for three years. What do I do after the expiration?
The license may be extended completing 1 or 2 days long "workshops" (1 day of workshop adds 1 year of licence validity, 2 day workshop adds 2 years) or any follow-up course of higher level od education (C license is extended by completion of the course B). You can sign up for the course of a higher level even with an expired license. The work expericence does not provide license prolongation. Instructors with expired licenses are not supposed to teach in the ski school - if they do so, the ski school will face penalties from the Trade Office!
D or D1 license prolongation is not possible. The course C must be attended instead.
APUL License, their recognition and comparison with other countries
I have a license from another educational establishment. Can I continue in education with APUL?
APUL always been and is open to those interested in education, among other accreditation facility (hereinafter AF) or association of the Czech Republic and around the world. The rules for entry into the education system of APUL are defined by APUL Methodical Committee in cooperation with representatives of various sections (skiing, snowbaording, freeride, nordic).
If interested in recognition of other licenses and access to APUL education system, you must send a written request to info@apul.cz and attach a copy of already acquired qualifications and licenses.
